New Year’s Resolutions 🎯

It's that time of the year again.

The calendar flips, and suddenly we're all fueled by holiday leftovers and a dose of hope, ready to conquer the world. 🌎️

New Year's resolutions are everywhere. Some people promise to hit to the gym (again), save more money, or finally finish that book they started months ago. 📆

But here's the thing: most of these goals won't make it past February. In fact, research reveal that just a small percentage of people stick to their resolutions.

So, why is it so hard to turn our big goals into reality? More importantly, how can we set goals that are actually achievable?

Let’s break it down.

Main 🥙

Why To Set Goals

Setting and achieving goals can give our life a sense of fulfillment and purpose. They provide us direction, help us measure progress, and recognize our flaws.

You might even think of certain goals as your life's GPS. 🧭

Certain goals only truly function when you have a precise outcome in mind, much like your phone's GPS requires an exact location to function.

Therefore, achieveing goals are so powerful.

Achieving goals can help you…

  • improve your self-image.

  • make your aware of your strengths and weaknesses.

  • help you visualize.

  • to set priorities.

  • become more responsible.

👨‍🍳 Tip: The best goals are ones that allow us to appreciate the journey rather than the outcome.

9 Proven Steps To Achieve Goals

Attempting to achieve goals might be overwhelming at times.

The truth is, there is no one-size-fits-all solution. However, there are proven techniques that can help you succeed. 📈

Here are some strategies that I have personally found helpful:

  • Start with “why”, not just “what”

  • Be specific, not vague

  • Break big goals into smaller goals

  • Write them down 📝

  • Plan each step

  • Set a deadline ⏲️

  • Check in regularly (track the progress)

  • Adjust the goals if needed

  • Celebrate successes 🎉

Bonus tip: Share your goals with someone to hold yourself accountable (for example, in the form of bi-weekly catch-up calls with a friend 😉).
