Ginger Season

It’s that time of the year again—cold mornings, warm sweaters, and a runny nose. 👃

Whenever I feel the first signs of a cold, sore throat, or an upset stomach, I reach for my trusted remedy: Ginger

Whether freshly grated in meals, brewed into teas, or taken as a spicy shot, ginger has established itself as a worldwide superfood.

We all know it’s good for us—but what exactly does ginger do for our bodies?

Let’s dive in and discover its powerful benefits!

Main 🥙

Ginger’s Power

Ginger has been used in Indian and Chinese medicine for thousands of years.

Like cardamom, black pepper, and turmeric, it belongs to the Zingiberaceae family and contains vitamins C, magnesium, and potassium, all of which are vital for good health.

However, ginger's most powerful health benefits are believed to come from its 100+ compounds, which include paradols, shogaols, and gingerols.

Ginger can not only help improve digestion, reduce inflammation, and support the immune system. It can also...

  • help against nausea and morning sickness.

  • lower cholesterol levels. 📉

  • aid with weight loss.

  • help reduce the risk of gastrointestinal cancers.

  • improve cardiovascular health ❤️

  • reduce menstrual pain.

👩‍🍳 tip: Consuming too much ginger (more than 6 grams) has been shown to produce gastrointestinal problems such as reflux, heartburn, and diarrhea.

3 Min DIY Ginger Shot

Are you interested in adopting Ginger into your life but don’t know where to start?

Here is my 3-minute DIY ginger shot recipe:

  1. Place chopped ginger (100 g), turmeric (1/3 tbsp), lemon juice (of 3 whole lemons), water (100 ml), honey (1 tbsp), and cayenne pepper (a pinch) in a blender.

  2. Pour the liquid through a fine sieve into a glass.

  3. Take a shot!

  4. Enjoy it 💛

My tip: If you are too lazy to prepare yourself a ginger shot, then treat yourself with a cup of hot ginger lemon tea with honey.

Simply mix some grated ginger, the juice of 2 lemons, and a tablespoon of honey in a cup of hot water. Enjoy! 🍵

Snacks 🥜

Dad Joke of the Week

Why did the ginger bring a ladder to the bar?

He heard the drinks were on the house!

A Deep Question

How do you create a sense of warmth in your life, both physically and emotionally?

A Friendly Reminder

Warmth isn’t just about temperature; it’s about kindness, connection, and care.
