You may be suffering from it right now! Your neck is slanted forward, and your head is positioned in front of your shoulders. It’s called “forward head posture” (FHP), and it has become a new common posture in modern society. 🌎️

Forward head posture (FHP) is a poor habitual neck posture and a condition in which the ears are positioned in front of the vertical midline of your body.

What causes FHP? Extended sitting, hunching over electronic devices, and prolonged screen time often cause FHP. Especially long-term bad posture, such as slouching, and a lack of awareness about maintaining good posture lead to this chronic condition.

Solution: FHP may sound like a serious problem, but you can fix it. Stretching and strengthening exercises can improve posture while also reducing adverse effects. ✅

How To Improve Head Posture

Would you like to know how to improve your head posture and fix FHP? Don’t worry, I got you! 😉 

Here are my top 4 tips to improve head posture and fix FHP:

  • Do daily neck, chest, and shoulder exercises (for example, chin tucks and neck, chest, and shoulder stretches 🧘 ).

  • Set up an ergonomic workspace (position your screen on eye level 💻️ and try to avoid bad sitting positions).

  • Sleep on a cervical pillow (a pillow that supports your neck and spine during 🛏️ 💤 ).

  • Set a reminder on your phone that alerts you to check and work on your posture (2x a day ⏰ ).
