Houseplants
The best roommates you could ask for

Hey, it’s Benji 👋
Do you like spending time in nature?
I personally love being in nature because of the views, the silence, and the clarity it brings. 🏞️
But let’s be real: it’s not the best place for Zoom calls.
So… what if we brought a little nature to us instead? 👀
This week’s menu is all about houseplants.
Enjoy! 🍴

Nature @ Home

Let me ask you something:
How much time do you actually spend intentionally outside?
Maybe a few hours a week - strolling through the park, hiking, or squeezing in a workout? 🏃
Now think about how much time you spend indoors.
(Hint: it’s a lot!) 👀
On average, we spend about 85% of our daily lives inside.
We all know nature is good for us - it calms the mind, sparks creativity, and even helps us improve our cardiovascular health.
So… if we’re not able to go outside, can we bring nature closer to us?
Yes, and it starts with houseplants. 🌿
Here’s how these green roommates can improve our health (and which ones won’t let you down). 👇️

More Than a Plant

What are houseplants?
Houseplants are plants made for indoor life.
They can thrive without ever needing to be outside - just give them some light, a little water, and lots of love. 🌱
You can think of them as the quiet, low-maintenance roommates we all need more of - always there, asking for little, and giving a lot!
How do they affect us?
Sharing your space with living, breathing greenery doesn’t just look nice - it feels good, too.
Houseplants can help you feel calmer, reduce stress, and even lower your blood pressure and heart rate. 💓
In short: less tension, more zen. 🧘
However, houseplants have also been shown to
🌬️ improve air quality
💡 boost creativity, focus and productivity
🛏️ help you recover faster
😷 make you less likely to get sick (your boss will love this fact!!!)
👩🍳 Chef tip: You don’t need to turn your living room into a jungle.
A few well-chosen plants can do the trick. Just make sure they’re safe if you’ve got kids or pets around (some plants are toxic).

Say no more! 😉

The 5 Best (must-have) Houseplants

Let’s be honest - if killing houseplants were a sport, some of us would be gold medalists. 🥇
But it’s not you… it’s the high-maintenance plants!!!
Here are 5 houseplants that are basically impossible to kill and good for your health. 👇
🌱 Snake Plant (Sansevieria trifasciata) - Excellent air purifier, removes formaldehyde, benzene, and tolerates low light
🌿 Pothos / Money Plant (Epipremnum aureum) - Removes toxins, acts as an anti-radiator against electronic device emissions, increases humidity, and is very easy to care for
☘️ ZZ Plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia) - Known for improving indoor air quality, tolerating low light, and surviving weeks without water
🍃 Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum) - Absorbs harmful toxins, is very forgiving, and is pet-friendly
🌴 Areca Palm (Dypsis lutescens) - Can help purify air, oxygenate the environment, and create a tropical vibe
My tip: Don’t just pick plants because they’re trendy - choose ones that fit your lifestyle and space.
Once they’re in your home, they’re part of the family. 😉
