Is it the perfect breakfast?

Hey, it’s Benji 👋
Chances are you’ve had them for breakfast.
And if not, you definitely know someone who eats them every single morning.

The Perfect Breakfast 🥣
I used to eat them every single morning for years!!
Hot water, some fruit, and peanut butter - breakfast done in 2 minutes. ✅
Cheap, easy, and foolproof.
But I never really questioned if they were good for me. 🤔
Oats are one of the most eaten breakfast meals in the world. 🌎️
They have been fueling athletes, farmers, and armies for centuries.
But are they actually that good for us?
Or is this just another case of great marketing?
Let's dig into it. 👇️

🔍️ The Truth About Oats
What are oats?
Oats are seeds/grains of the oat grass. 🌾
How old are they?
Humans have been eating/processing them for over 30,000 years.
Are all oats the same?
Nope!
The main difference is how much they’ve been processed:
Groats - least processed (1 hour cooking)
Steel-cut oats - chopped groats (30 minutes cooking)
Rolled oats - steamed and flattened (15 minutes cooking)
Instant oats - pre-cooked & highly processed (5 minutes cooking)
Oat flour - finely ground & processed (instant)
Oat bran - brown outer skin of groats
What’s the issue with oats?
Oats are great, but they’re not flawless. They can
contain pesticide residues (if not organic)
spike blood sugar levels
carry heavy metals
cause bloating
be high in phytic acids (block mineral absorption)
But should we still eat them?
Yes, if you like them!
Because when you pick the right type and portion, oats come with serious benefits:
They have been shown to
👩🍳 Chef Tip: Buy organic steel-cut oats if you can. They’re less processed, free of nasty pesticides, and way better for your health.

Let’s be real:
Having oats only as porridge or in shakes can get really boring.
That’s why I wanted to share with you my easiest (and tastiest) oat recipe, which will make any breakfast feel like a brunch. 😍
👉️ Once you try these, plain porridge will feel like punishment!
Here’s what you need:
2 medium ripe bananas
2 eggs (or applesauce)
150 g of rolled oats
120 ml of milk (or plant-based alternative)
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp cinnamon
A pinch of salt
Olive oil or coconut oil (for cooking)
Fruits and nut butter (for topping)
How to make them:
Throw everything into a blender (wet first) and blend until smooth
Let it rest and heat up your pan to medium heat
Add one soup ladle of batter and cook 2–3 min per side until golden and fluffy
Top with fruit, peanut butter, or any nut butter you love ❤️
My tip: Add a scoop of protein powder and some crushed walnuts into the batter if you want to make them extra filling. 💪
