Despite its small population of 5.5 million, Finland is estimated to have three million saunas.

People even give birth in them (not while heated), because it is a sterile environment with hot water available. 😅

What are saunas? They are small wooden chambers heated almost up to 100 degrees Celsius where people sit naked in silence and sweat together.

Why do people take them? It is exercising without exercising! The heat can elevate your skin's temperature, increase your heart rate, and generate excessive perspiration; only a few minutes in the sauna can produce a pint of sweat. 💦

Are you new to the sauna world and want to master it like a Finnish pro? Here's my ultimate sauna guide, which will make folks think you're Finnish:

  1. Get naked.

  2. Take a quick shower. 🚿

  3. Hydrate before entering the sauna.

  4. Enter the sauna quietly.

  5. Place a towel on the bench to sit on.

  6. Find a comfortable position. 🧘 

  7. Relax for 5-20 minutes.

  8. Exit the sauna quietly.

  9. Refresh yourself with cool water.

  10. Hydrate and relax. 🧖
