We sit at home, while traveling, socializing, eating, and the majority of us sit at work. Are we spending too much time sitting?
Sitting has become a common posture in modern life, although our bodies were meant to move. This is why moving makes you feel better 😉.
Unfortunately, most people spend more time sitting than sleeping...

Sitting Dangers
How dangerous is sitting? A study of half a million people revealed that people who spent the majority of their days sitting at work had a considerably increased risk of death, especially from cardiovascular disease.
Too much sitting can…
increase anxiety and depression.
cause leg, glute, hip, back, shoulder, and neck pain.
make you gain weight.
can lead to varicose veins.
may cause deep vein thrombosis.
What if I exercise a lot? Prolonged sitting, regardless of exercise level, is strongly associated with negative health effects, including an increased risk of premature death, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease.
Benefits: Taking a seat after a physical activity can improve recovery and short-term wellbeing.

Tips to Avoid Sitting
Take regular breaks to get up and move around (set an alarm every 30 minutes and move for 3 minutes).
Use every opportunity to move (take the stairs, go for walks, pick up food).
Utilize gadgets to support/improve your posture (lumbar rolls and wedge pillows).
Make your seat uncomfortable (sit too high or too low, hard seats, no armrests).
Bonus tip: Get an exhausting job (nursing, construction or farming).
