Why so sweaty?
Summer = sweating season. However, we donβt only sweat because of the warm weather. There are numerous reasons why we sweat, including physical activity, spicy food, anxiety, illness, and sometimes for no reason. So why exactly do we sweat? π§
Main π₯
Why we sweat
What is sweat? A mixture of water and small amounts of electrolytes, pheromones, bacteria, and released toxins.
Why do we sweat? Sweating is your body's natural cooling mechanism. π Your sweat glands release water onto the skin's surface as your body temperature rises. Sweat then evaporates, cooling both your skin and the blood beneath it.
Sweating benefits: Sweating can
improve overall wellbeing.
reduce soreness and improve the recovery process.
protect against bacterial strains known to cause illnesses.
help eliminate heavy metals from the body.
remove industrial chemicals like BPAs and PCBs (found in plastics).
Fun fact: Sweat doesn't actually smell. Sweat smells because of bacteria.

How to sweat safely
Sweating may be healthy and normal. Still, you can take steps to manage sweating and make it more comfortable.
How to manage sweat safely:
Wear light layers of breathable clothing π (remove layers as you heat up).
Swap out sweaty clothes regularly (for example, socks, t-shirts, and underwear) to avoid impure skin.
Drink enough water π° with electrolytes to replenish lost fluids.
Use a deodorant or underarm antiperspirant to reduce odor.
Take showers πΏ
