At times, we work tirelessly for days without slowing down or taking a moment to breathe. Work may sometimes cause us to feel so overwhelmed, that we experience physical and mental exhaustion. When we feel this way, it’s time to take a break.

Why we should travel
The fact is that we all need a break from time to time. For each person, taking a break can mean something different. Some people define taking a break as doing nothing at home, while others define it as getting away from their everyday surroundings—for example, by traveling.
Travling can be a relaxing escape, but it can also be stressfull. But how does it actually affect us?
Travel benefits: Traveling can…
lower your risk of heart disease
reduce depression and tiredness
create stronger antibodies that keep you healthy
decrease stress and anxiety
improve overall wellbeing (physical complaints, mood and sleep quality)
make you leave your comfort zone 😉
Careful! Traveling can also have a negative impact on your mental health. If traveling feels like work to you, it can cause stress and fatigue. Further, it is also common for travelers to get sick when they go abroad.

Cheap Travel Tips
Traveling doesn’t have to be expensive.
How to travel cheap:
Try to visit places where you know someone. You will most likely be able to stay at their residency.
Travel light, but pack properly.
Eat smart by ordering less (quality > quantity).
Travel out of season.
My tip: Don’t think too much about where or when to go. If you feel like traveling, pack your backpack and just go!
